Our client has an exciting opportunity as a Coordinator, Professional Growth & Management in their Vancouver Professional Growth & Management (“PGM”) team. As a member of their team, you will play a key role in the administrative aspects of the fast-paced department.
What You’ll Do
You will be an integral member to your team who will depend on your assistance and support to keep the department organized. You will be involved in a wide variety of administrative tasks, including: supporting the Director and Associate Director on a variety of initiatives, coordinating the administrative components of the Vancouver and Calgary summer and articling student programs, including social events, supporting the Associate Director with law school liaison initiatives (events & sponsorship). You will continue to skillfully coordinate and support our client’s lawyer recruitment efforts in Vancouver, Calgary and Hong Kong. You will also work closely with our client’s national PGM team and Professional Services Committee Co-Chairs on a variety of tasks.
Additional tasks include: organizing and maintaining the PGM electronic files in their document management system (DMS) and undertaking special projects and other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
You have established yourself as a key resource in your successful administrative career within a law firm or professional services environment (e.g. accounting, engineering). Your history includes supporting senior executives, with a minimum of five years of administrative experience. You have strong project management, organizational and interpersonal skills, along with excellent communication skills both written and oral to handle a high volume, fast-paced daily schedule. You are self-starter and have been entrusted with projects from start-to-finish. You are detail-oriented and take pride in your high degree of accuracy. You are able to effectively meet deadlines on on-going overlapping projects and initiatives. You work well in a team setting, and provide an exceptional level of client service, including managing sensitive and confidential information with discretion. You embrace evolving technology and have strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Prior experience with viRecruit, Cornerstone or a DMS is an asset. Previous experience with handling a student portfolio, dealing with British Columbia or Alberta law societies and law school offices would be considered an asset.
