in our Medical Affairs Department. Your combined knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws/Rules and BC Hospital Act/Regulations will assist you as you coordinate and administer the appointment, privileging and membership renewal process for Physicians, Dentists, Midwives, and Nurse Practitioners in Fraser Health.Position Highlights:
Bring your effective organizational skills to a role where you can really make a difference! As Coordinator, Medical Staff Credentialing you will administer the appointment/reappointment review process, on behalf of Department Heads, Vice President Medicine, and the Board of Directors.Your specific duties will include:
•Coordinate the appointment, privileging and renewal processes for practitioner applicants and Medical Staff using the online tool App Central. •Releases, receives and reviews applications for appointment, renewal, change of status, leave, and resignation for practitioners and Medical Staff members. •Liaise with representatives from a variety of licensing bodies and provincial professional Colleges, private and government agencies on matters related to medical staff credentials, submitting appointment /privilege applications as well as provide advice to medical leadership and/or medical staff. •Develop and maintain positive working relationships with Fraser Health senior management, Medical Staff leaders, facility staff, applicant practitioners and Medical Staff members and respond to internal and external inquiries in this regard.
Are you a positive, pleasant person with an eye for detail? You can work independently using good judgement to interpret a variety of legal and procedural documents in assessing Medical Staff qualifications and experience. You like helping people and you display excellent communication skills.
Do you take a meticulous, hands-on approach to deliver high quality and precise work? You are able to identify problems and provide alternative solutions. You will carry a high standard of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality while maintaining positive working relationships in a fast paced, demanding work environment.Qualifications:
•Diploma in Business Administration or a related field. •Three years' experience in Medical Staff credentialing in a hospital or health authority setting in a Canadian jurisdiction. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.
