About The Role and Our Client  

Looking for flexibility? We’ve got an exciting opportunity with one of Vancouver’s largest business law firms. They are currently on the lookout for a Contract Legal Administrative Assistant to work in their firm’s Entertainment sector. This is an 8-month full-time contract role with the opportunity of perm. As their Entertainment Law LAA, you will be responsible for a variety duties ranging from large scale transactions, to maintaining all administrative functions. The successful candidate will be experienced with a minimum of 5+ years of previous experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities:

  • - Perform complex editing (via dictation or hand-written markups) and formatting of documents
    for various correspondence, agreements, reports, forms and spreadsheets
  • - Quickly grasp a matter based, electronic filing system
  • - Correspond directly (telephone and email) with established clients in a professional manner
  • - Assist with monthly invoices and prepare trust paperwork as required
  • - Assist team of assistants on large scale transactions
  • - Maintain all administrative functions, including (but not limited to): file opening and closing
    procedures, scheduling appointments and maintaining the calendar, and managing contact lists
    and bring forwards, travel arrangements, among other ad hoc administrative duties

Education and Qualifications

  • - Legal Administrative Assistant Certification  
  • - 5+ years of previous experience as a Corporate/Business Legal Administrative Assistant in a BC or Common Law setting (in a corporate, professional services, and/or law firm environment)
  • - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook etc.,)
  • - Experience with PC Law, Worldox and Workshare Compare considered asset
  • - Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate at all levels of an organization, internally and externally
  • - The ability to multi-task and manage tasks under a time-sensitive environment
  • - The ability to practice sound discretion and judgment at all times
