Work Arrangements
The Health Care Support Work Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Douglas College is hiring contract faculty instructors, to begin January 2, 2023. The primary place of work will be Coquitlam Campus.

The Role
The Faculty of Health Sciences invites applications for contract faculty to teach in the Health Care Assisting and Community Mental Health Work programs.
ResponsibilitiesYou will instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress in College courses. You will plan, organize and manage learning activities and resources, provide academic advice to learners and maintain quality learner-centered instruction.
To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need
To be a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse in good standing with undergraduate degree in Nursing or health-related field. Master's degree preferred:
- current practicing licensure with BCCNP ;
- recent teaching experience in clinical, classroom and/or laboratory settings in a Health Care Assisting or nursing-related program or equivalent;
- three or more years of full-time nursing experience preferred with broad and current clinical experience that includes a sound foundation in community, home health, geriatrics and/or mental health practice;
- curriculum development/maintenance experience/expertise;
- effective interpersonal skills, initiative and creativity;
- self-directedness, strong work ethic and excellent writing ability;
- ability to collaborate and contribute effectively to team activities;
- satisfactory current references.
