The Creative Writing ( CRWR ) Department is seeking to hire a contract instructor to teach CRWR 1103: Introduction to Writing Fiction in the Fall 2020 semester and to expand its list of contract instructors qualified to teach CRWR courses in fiction and other genres at the post-secondary level.
There is 1 course available in Fall 2020. CRWR 1103: Introduction to Writing Fiction is scheduled on Wednesdays from 9:00 to 11:50 am in Fall 2020 (September 8, 2020 to December 22, 2020).
Available sections are identified each year.

The Creative Writing ( CRWR ) Department offers first- and second-year courses in fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, screenwriting, song lyrics, playwriting, writing for children, and speculative fiction.
We are looking for a qualified instructor to teach CRWR 1103: Introduction to Writing Fiction offered in the Fall 2020 semester. In addition, the successful candidate will need to be qualified to teach in at least one other of the genres listed above.
Applicants are asked to indicate in their cover letter which genres they are qualified to teach.Responsibilities
As an instructor, you will plan courses, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress. You will provide academic advice to learners and maintain quality, learner-centred instruction.

To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need
- a minimum of a Master's degree in Creative Writing, or equivalent
- a minimum of one book publication and recent additional publishing credits (book, recognized literary magazine, or produced script) in Fiction and the other genre(s) that applicants wish to apply for.
- experience teaching CRWR workshops, preferably in a post-secondary setting
- demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
Experience with online teaching will be considered an asset.
