Work Arrangements
The Biology Department at Douglas College is currently seeking applicants to teach in the Summer 2024 semester. Each contract section includes four hours of lecture time per week (2 × 2h) plus associated lab time. We are currently seeking an instructor for medical microbiology, and encourage applicants with experience in this area.

Responsibilities

You will instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress in College courses. You will plan, organize and manage learning activities and resources, provide academic advice to learners and maintain quality learner-centered instruction.
To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need
- A Master of Science degree (Ph.D. preferred) in a biological science discipline or a related field from an accredited university.
- Experience teaching Human Anatomy & Physiology and General Biology at the first year level.
- Proven ability to teach effectively at the post-secondary level.
- Ability to work co-operatively as part of a team and specifically with the Biology Department in curriculum development.
- A willingness to contribute positively to the college community. In addition to these requirements, candidates with the qualifications and experience to teach Microbiology are particularly encouraged to apply for a contract position at this time.
