Scope We're looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals to support Sport Surrey and City of Surrey in putting on great and inclusive sporting events. As a Community Service Assistant 1, you will be mainly responsible for event planning, coordination, as well as event day support such as event setup/take-down. You will have excellent customer skills, high energy, and an enthusiastic approach to your work. Some Junior Leaders offer a few hours of their time a year at specific events, while others work several hours a week year-round. Whatever your interests, talents, background and availability, Sport Surrey has opportunities for you!
Responsibilities Working as part of the Sport Surrey team, a Community Services Assistant 1 will:
• Assist in adapting and delivering recreation services. • Assist on the event day for set-up, guest assistance and registration, and clean up. • May also choose to be involved in event planning and coordination. • Tracking the results and benefits of hosting major sport tourism events. • General support to event organizers in the delivery of sport hosting events.
Qualifications The successful candidate will have:
• Emergency First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate, Occupational First Aid Level One Certificate, or acceptable equivalent. • Completion of grade 12. • A valid BC Driver's License with save driving history. • Some experience working in community service. • An equivalent acceptable combination of training and experience will be considered.
Conditions of Employment This position requires completion of a Police Information Check including a Vulnerable Sector Check.
