Scope

The Community Programs Coordinator reports to the Community Programs Manager and is responsible for developing, coordinating and promoting detachment wide Community safety programs and services related to public safety. The successful candidate will play an integral part in the District offices and the delivery of crime prevention programs to the public.

Responsibilities

    • Liaise with the public as a point of contact for public safety related information. • Developing, organizing, scheduling, and coordinating presentations related to Crime Prevention and Public Safety. • Managing volunteers in the delivery of Crime Prevention programs in the community. • Prepare correspondence, reports, and monthly statistics and carry out other related administrative duties related to the work .


Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline. • Minimum of two years of related work experience. • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. • A valid BC driver's license with a safe driving history is required. • Demonstrated effective motivation and direction of volunteers and students as well as have strong interpersonal, listening & public speaking skills. • You must be able to obtain and maintain the relevant level of security clearance throughout employment with the Surrey RCMP.


Conditions of Employment

This position requires completion of an RCMP Reliability Security Clearance.
