Commercial Transport Mechanic major responsibilities:
Performing vehicle maintenance to the First Transit standards.
Adhere to all First Canada policies and procedures
Perform all aspects of Transit Bus repairs
Diagnosing all phases of vehicle and equipment repair.
Removing, cleaning, repairing, reinstalling, and adjusting vehicle components (Engine Emission Components, Driveline Components, Electrical/Electronic Components, Brakes/Suspension/Steering/Exhaust, Cab/Chassis, and Hydraulics).
Ensuring work orders are completed accurately.
Selecting appropriate course of action for repairs.
Evaluating completed work prior to release, seeking supervisor approval where required.
Performing road calls and emergency services as necessary.
Moving vehicles safely between job and work area.
Communicating professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors.
Actively participating in safety or educational training as required.
Update and maintain maintenance records as required
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Comply with Safety & Health regulations in the workplace.
Maintain required tools for the job and submit tool inventory annually
Fleet Maintenance Mechanic job requirements:
Valid BC Class 2 with air driver's license preferred
Completed Red Seal in Commercial Transport or Heavy Duty Mechanic program
Commercial Vehicle Inspector Certificate
Willingness to work effectively both alone and with others in a team environment
Mechanically minded and safety conscious
Strong personal interest in mechanics
