As our Cloud System Administrator, you will play an instrumental part in customer facing cloud deployments (e.g. AWS), taking us into areas such as auto-scaling, self testing systems, self healing, and automation.  Leveraging your systems administration experience, you will also help evolve our private cloud deployments.  You will champion innovative and automated approaches to our development processes to maintain system integrity, high availability and increase automation.  You’ll also develop monitoring metrics to gain insight into system performance and provide recommendations for improving efficiency, reliability, scalability, and security.

Desired qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ of systems operations experience plus 3+ years’ of customer facing cloud deployment experience

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) deployment experience specializing in EC2 Autoscaling, S3 and RDS/Aurora (PostgreSQL) is an asset

  • Experience managing Windows server environments, MS SQL database systems, and PostgreSQL database systems

  • Strong background in operational security practices

  • Private cloud infrastructure administration including infrastructure health monitoring and maintenance is an asset

  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing Windows automation including powershell scripting is an asset

  • Networking administration including Active Directory/LDAP, DNS, TCP/IP routing, DMZ practices, Firewalls, Proxy servers, IDS/IPS

  • Familiarity with .Net and C#

  • System performance modelling and monitoring experience using systems such as Nagios and Windows Performance Monitor is an asset, but not required

  • A degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to successfully pass applicable security checks, including a criminal record check
