Contribute to the administration of justice in a diverse legal environment by bringing your thoroughness, good judgement and initiative to this specialized role. To perform a variety of legal support services for counsel.

As a Legal Assistant you will provide administrative and secretarial services to Barristers and/or Solicitors for all levels of Ministries within Legal Service. The Legal Assistant performs specialized, skilled work, including work of a complex nature in Legal Services Branch. This position is responsible for performing a variety of legal support services, with a high degree of independence and under limited supervision, for assigned legal counsel.

The work is carried out in a high-profile and fast-paced office in which flexibility, teamwork, tact, diplomacy, communication and organization are essential for the efficient, accurate, successful and timely completion of responsibilities. The Legal Assistants must work under extreme time-sensitive deadlines that are not within their control and yet be able to produce high-quality work.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

• Grade 12 graduation or GED, plus legal Assistance diploma or equivalent.
• Keyboarding speed of 50 words per minute.
• Experience in transactional documents and document preparation.
• One year of experience (within the last five years) working in a legal office.
