Job Summary

Bring your strong administrative experience and superior organizational skills to this position

Scheduling staff work under the delegated authority of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and perform a function that is critical to the Court, the judiciary, and to the public. A high level of judgment and professionalism is required because they serve as the main interface between the judiciary and the public and carry out an important gate-keeping role. The main function of Supreme Court Scheduling is to coordinate the scheduling of trials, hearings, and conferences on behalf of the judiciary. As such, the scheduling staff are part of the administration of justice and occupy a unique position in working closely with members of the judiciary and protecting judicial independence. The role requires staff to understand the role of the judiciary as an independent branch of government. Scheduling staff work closely with other government departments which provide support services to the Supreme Court, including Court Services Branch and the sheriffs.

Job Requirements:
  • Grade 12 graduation or equivalent.
  • Two years experience in a dynamic, deadline conscious work environment
  • Experience/training in data entry, spreadsheets and the current MS Office suite
  • Experience providing customer service

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
  • Experience working in a legal setting, such as court services, Judiciary, law office or justice sector
  • Experience working in the court system
  • Office / administrative experience
  • Post secondary education and/or training related to law or justice studies
