Job Summary

The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) is the Province of BC's primary emergency response organization. It operates year-round to deliver its mandate for wildfire management and response to natural hazard emergencies. The BCWS operates provincially, delivering services through six fire centres, thirty-three zones and two provincial centres in Kamloops and Victoria.

To provide support to program management and staff and coordinate office administration functions, human resources, and records management.

Job Requirements:
  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • Experience providing administrative services for a group of staff.
  • Experience supervising others.
  • Experience in digital records management (e-filing)
  • Experience in typing, drafting, formatting, proofreading and editing a variety of documents, including memos, briefing materials, reports and presentations.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with human resource administrative experience.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with assistive technology experience or accessibility tool experience and application.


Successful completion of security screening requirements of the BC Public Service, which may include a criminal records check, and/or Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) check, and/or enhanced security screening checks as required by the ministry (Note: It is important that you read the job posting carefully to understand the specific security screening requirements pertaining to the position).
