The Mines Competitiveness and Authorizations Division (MCAD) of the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation (EMLI) manages and facilitates the responsible development of BC's mineral resources. MCAD staff work to ensure safe and environmentally responsible mining exploration, mine development and closure; provide timely permitting decisions; foster a positive and supportive environment for staff; and contribute to the achievement of the Province's social, economic and environmental goals.
The Mines Health, Safety and Enforcement Division (MHSE) provides oversight of the mineral exploration and mining sector during all stages of mine projects. The division includes the Assistant Deputy Minister's Office, Office of the Chief Inspector; the Regulatory Management and Enforcement Branch, the Abandoned Mines Branch and the Mine Audits and Strategic Services Branch.
The contract administrator provides support to both mining divisions under the supervision of the Contract Manager by managing the flow of documents and transactions throughout the procurement cycle.Job Requirements:
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
- Experience in basic accounting such as accounts payable/receivable and tracking expenditures.
Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:
- Experience with contract administration.
- Experience with the Corporate Financial System (CFS).
- Experience compiling financial data.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel).
Successful completion of security screening requirements of the BC Public Service, which may include a criminal records check, and/or Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) check, and/or enhanced security screening checks as required by the ministry (Note: It is important that you read the job posting carefully to understand the specific security screening requirements pertaining to the position).
