The LDB is one of two branches of government responsible for the cannabis and liquor industry of B.C. We operate the wholesale distribution of beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis within the province, as well as the household retail brands of BC Liquor Stores and BC Cannabis Stores.

Corporate Operations at the BCLDB includes our Corporate Loss Prevention and Real Estate departments. Real Estate manages all activities related to the leasing, construction, renovation, and facilities management of all new and existing LDB facilities, included head office, distribution centers, and all BC Liquor and BC Cannabis retail locations. The Corporate Loss Prevention department ensures the security of all BCLDB assets through physical security management as well as an investigative team.

Reporting to the Director Leasing, the Leasing Assistant is responsible for: research and organization of support materials required in the preparation of Branch business lease proposals; editing of the branch standard form of lease from draft stage through to final version; draft Issues notes to the Minister and other business letters relating to leasing business, and administrative support to other team members of the Leasing Department.

Position Requirements:

Education and Experience:
  • Post-secondary certificate/diploma in Public/Business Administration, Real Estate or Contract Law or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of recent, related experience.*

OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, i.e., 3 years or greater of recent, related experience* with formal coursework and/or certifications in a related field.

*Recent, related experience must be within the last 5 years and must include the following:
  • Administrative support experience, i.e., producing reports and memos, drafting letters, compiling support material, preparation of proposals or related.
  • Real Estate and Leasing support experience.

Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
  • Experience in a multi-unit retail environment.
