The Strategic Human Resources Branch (SHR) supports the Ministry of Children and Family Development with human resources and organizational development initiatives, programs and services related to workforce planning, engagement, leadership development, recruitment and retention, corporate HR priorities, occupational health and safety, Indigenous recruitment and cultural safety, diversity and inclusion, corporate learning and sector research, and strategic HR consulting. The SHR team focuses on the strategic needs of the ministry to ensure it has the people and skills it needs to provide exceptional services to the children, youth, and families of British Columbia, now and into the future.

Reporting to the Director, Strategic Human Resources the SHR Assistant provides assistance to the branch leadership and staff, and supports office administration functions, human resources, records management, and data entry as well as to provide administrative support services to branch projects, recruitment and human resources clerical duties.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Secondary School graduation or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a professional office environment.
  • Experience with word processing and database applications.
  • Experience assisting with human resource administrative functions, payroll and leave management including consulting with the appropriate agency for guidance, submitting paperwork and verifying information.
