Job Summary

The Team
The Cariboo Fire Centre Prevention team is part of the BC Wildfire Service, focused on wildfire resiliency, education, mitigation, and response. This established team, consisting of a Senior Wildfire Officer, 3 Wildfire Prevention Officers, a Prevention Specialist, and a Prevention Clerk, works closely with various staff and partners to manage significant wildfire risk reduction and prescribed fire initiatives. The Role
The Prevention Clerk role offers a dynamic opportunity to provide key administrative and documentation support for compliance, cost recovery, and risk reduction initiatives. You'll contribute to meaningful prevention efforts while tracking budgets and potentially assisting in the field. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Experience working in an office setting and computerized systems
  • Valid driver's licence


Provisos /Willingness statement(s)
  • To be flexible regarding ongoing changes in responsibilities, assignments and corporate structures
  • To keep current on emerging issues
  • To take in-house training and certification as required
  • To fly in aircraft (fixed wing and rotary) as required
  • To work extended hours, including weekends, and be on standby with limited notice in accordance with the preparedness plan
  • To travel and overnight in remote locations where accommodations may vary as required
  • To be assigned or participate to Incident Command System positions and Incident Management Teams as required
  • To work under adverse or stressful conditions, including smoke, extreme heat and mountainous terrain in remote and isolated conditions
