Job Summary

The Team
You will join the Intake, Registration and Scheduling (IRS) team - a collaborative, service-driven group that plays a vital role in WCAT's operations. Guided by the Supervisor, IRS, you'll work alongside experienced clerks and a receptionist who take pride in ensuring appeals and hearings are processed efficiently and fairly. The team values professionalism, adaptability, and teamwork in a supportive environment that makes a real difference for workers and employers across British Columbia.

The Role
As the Intake, Registration and Scheduling Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for appeals and applications, ensuring they are accurately registered and scheduled within statutory timelines. You'll coordinate hearings and interpreters across the province, handle confidential information with professionalism, and provide clear, respectful service to clients navigating the appeal process. This is a meaningful opportunity to support fairness and transparency in the workers' compensation system while developing valuable administrative and client service skills.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • Minimum one (1) year clerical experience working in a professional office.
  • Minimum one (1) year customer service experience providing client service in an adversarial environment.
  • Experience/training in keyboarding, word processing and standard computer applications (ie. MS Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet and databases).
  • Experience managing changing priorities, tight deadlines, volume of work and available resources.


Preference may be given to applicants withexperience performing clerical or administrative work subject to statutory or legislated time limits.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
