We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to utilize your skills as a Casual Clinical Resource Respiratory Therapist III
,Maple House at Surrey Memorial Hospital. Build on your education and career experience as you:
•Plans, implements and evaluates educational and clinical programs, including providing formal clinical teaching and orientation, to meet the learning needs of respiratory therapy staff. Provides formal clinical teaching and orientation to nursing and other allied health staff. •Conducts staff education, workshop and conference sessions. Presents ideas at rounds, workshops and conferences. •Develops, reviews and revises educational materials as appropriate and as approved by Professional Practice Leader. Maintains program records. •Conducts staff education, workshop and conference sessions. Presents ideas at rounds, workshops and conferences. •Acts as a clinical role model and resource for staff and division in the area of chronic ventilation, tracheostomy care, respiratory treatments and related treatment modalities. Participates in educational and clinical audits. Participates in Quality Improvement projects as a leader, facilitator or team member. •Participates in the development, communication and evaluation of standards, procedures and protocols. Facilitates changes in Respiratory practice. •Participates in resident/patient education initiatives through review and development of instructional materials and individual or group teaching. •Performs resident/patient care duties such as completing resident/patient assessments and informing residents/patients as to purpose and objectives of the diagnostic process, treatment and expected outcomes. To join this team you have:
•Graduation from an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy. •Current Full status registration with the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT) and the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT). •Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Level C. •Completion of an instructional program for teaching, such as Instructional Skills Workshop. •Three years' recent related experience in a tertiary care facility.
