About the OpportunityNLG is currently seeking a full-time Clinical Family Therapist, collaborating directly under the Nisga’a Child and Family Services department. The community-based role is located in New Aiyansh, BC, with work and travel between the other three Nisga'a communities of Gitwinksihlkw, Laxgalts’ap, and Gingolx.
Under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor, you will work in a day treatment program providing services such as intake, assessment, treatment, and crisis intervention for adolescents from age 13 to 18 and their families. You will also provide consultation/liaison with community agencies, schools, hospitals, and other ministry programs in a community setting based with an alternative school program.

As our successful candidate, you join us with a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Social Work (BSW or MSW), Educational Counselling, Clinical Psychology, Child and Youth Care, or another relevant field, as well as a minimum 2 years of experience working directly with parents, children, and youth of all ages.

This role is best suited to an innovative thinker who can take various therapy methods (expressive play, music, or art therapy, for example) to ensure that each child receives the best care possible.
Preference may be given to candidates who are members of or eligible for clinical membership with APA or CPA (American or Canadian Psychology Associations), or other equivalent organizations (e.g., BCACC, CCPA, FACTBC, ACA, etc.)
