Position Summary
Are you a registered Clinical Dietician looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Long-Term Care department.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, Long Term Care or designate, the Clinical Dietician - Quesnel provides nutrition care through nutritional assessment, goal setting, intervention, and counselling to inpatients, outpatients, residents and/or community care clients according to established policies, guidelines, procedures, standards, vision and values of the organization. The Clinical Dietician under the general direction of the Diabetes Nurse Educator provides diabetes nutrition counseling to referred outpatients and their family/supports by providing instructions concerning nutritional requirements, food planning and preparation for diabetes management. Works collaboratively with food service staff in acute and residential and maintains liaison with medical, nursing and other health care workers as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days - 08:00 to 16:00

Qualfications
• Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with majors in dietetics or nutrition and completion of a dietetic internship recognized by the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia.
• Current membership and in good standing with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia.
• 1 to 2 years of recent related experience in dietetic counseling or combination of education, training or experience.

Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to establish rapport and maintain good working relationships with hospital and facility staff, physicians, clients and their families.
• Ability to follow and client centered approach to nutritional care and counseling.
• Ability to work independently, quickly and accurately within time limitations.
• Ability to keep abreast of current developments and research in the field.
• Physical ability to perform duties of the position.
