to come aboard and provide support in our Workplace Health Department.Position Highlights
Bring your knowledge of Disability Management (DM) principles and practices to a team where you can really make a difference! You will be responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of musculoskeletal injury prevention programs in an assigned area of Fraser Health.
Do you show strength in handling disability cases and services within a disability management or rehabilitation setting? We are looking for a pleasant person with an eye for detail. You are able to set priorities, are driven and have exceptional self-motivation skills enabling you to thrive independently in your position.
You are knowledgeable in current trends in disability management and related standard methodologies. You demonstrate a high standard of discretion and maturity in handling confidential information and situations.Your specific duties will include:
•Performing case management for the rehabilitation of ill/injured employees through rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation, RTW plans and duty to accommodate agreements; •Collaborating with external agencies such as WorkSafe BC, ICBC, Great West Life and Healthcare Benefit Trust in the development, negotiation and implementation of disability/case management plans and agreements; •Implementing agreements and plans to ensure both a safe and durable return to work for staff; •Coordinating the development of individual return to work plans and ensuring the process and outcomes are evaluated; •Establishing contact with injured employees and act as the focal point for centralized communication and coordination of the treatment/rehabilitation plan; •Identifying systemic barriers to return to work; •Assisting departments to identify suitable transition work for ill/injured employees. Here is what we would like you to have:
•Bachelor's Degree in a health discipline such as Kinesiology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Occupational Health Nursing •Five (5) years' recent related experience in a large multi-union environment and registration with the appropriate professional organization An equivalent combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.
