Scope

Reporting to the Director of IT, the Clerk 3 - IT Division Clerk performs clerical work of considerable responsibility in providing support to senior management and supervising the administrative activities in the IT Division of the Corporate Services Department. The incumbent will be able to work under limited supervision and exercise independent judgement and initiative in carrying the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

As a successful candidate, you will:
    • Arrange meetings and appointments and ensure availability of materials for meetings. • Interpret departmental regulations to the public at the front counter, or through the phone or correspondence and attempt to resolve difficult problems. • Perform payroll duties for IT staff and related administrative tasks • Maintain and assure security of confidential information. • Research, collect, compile and analyse information and data from various sources to facilitate the organization and preparation of documents and reports. • Draft new forms, procedures and instructions subject to review of a superior. • Word processing of letters of a technical nature, correspondence, reports, forms, and hand-written information. • Prepare varied documents, collect and analyze a variety of data for entry, and complex statistical reports. • Perform junior accounting statistical tabulation. • Assist other staff in performing their duties. • Perform other related duties as required.


Qualifications

A qualified applicant will have:
    • Completion of Grade 12, supplemented by several courses in word processing, office practices and PC office applications. • Minimum 2 years experience and training in an office environment. • Must have accurate typing speed of 45 wpm.


Conditions of Employment

This position requires completion of a Police Information Check.
