Civil Engineering / Project Engineer: Harvey 2033
Our company is currently seeking a full-time Project Engineer, to join our Public Sector Division. This position is located in our Surrey head office. Our Public Sector Division has been providing quality engineering services to various Lower Mainland municipalities for over 25 years on a on a wide variety of projects, ranging from conceptual design and studies, detail design, to construction administration.
As part of our companies growing engineering team, you will be leading and delivering a variety of civil engineering project designs in the municipal field, and serve as the Engineer of Record. You will be leading the design and production process, prepare and review design calculations, undertake quality control procedures, and provide technical support to your reporting design staff member. You will work closely with the Division Manager in preparing proposals and establishing new business opportunities.
The ideal candidate would be a highly driven technical individual with excellent municipal engineering knowledge, specifically in the area of storm water / water modelling complemented by solid report writing skills. Experience in working directly with Lower Mainland municipalities would be of great value.
You will be working alongside with our other project engineer in the Public Sector Section, but will have much opportunity for self-directed independent work. The Project Engineering role will provide you with progressive career growth with opportunity into future management position
Day-to-Day Work :
Carry out and review various civil engineering design work, from the conceptual level through to detailed construction drawings
Undertake review of storm water / water model analysis
Prepare design reports, letters and technical memorandums
Prepare engineering proposals and fee extension requests
Provide technical support to your team members
Undertake quality control procedures and monitor design standards on completed work
Provide technical support to Project Managers and Inspection staff through the project delivery life cycle
Minimum 8 years of related experience in a consulting civil engineering environment
Completed university degree in Civil Engineering
Registered as a P. Eng. with APEGBC
Valid BC Driver’s License
Strong time management skills
Ability to work concurrently on several different projects
Ability to consistently produce accurate, high quality work
Comfortable carrying out design work with minimal supervision
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
This is a fulltime position
Salary range of $100,000 to $130,000, depending on working experience
