Civil Engineering Design Technologist – Land development: Harvey 1681
We have an opportunity for an experienced civil design technologist to join our company. With several years of progressive experience in the land development sector, you will have demonstrated capabilities in the design of all aspects of municipal infrastructure, estimating and tender preparation. Excellent English language communication skills are essential.
Working within a fully integrated computer system with planners and surveyors, you will be a competent AutoCAD user capable of working with complex digital files involving multiple professional disciplines. Candidates with experience in contract administration and have local experience in obtaining related municipal approvals would be preferred.

You will be required to perform a variety of tasks including the preparation of detail design drawings (primarily using AutoCAD Civil 3D, and related applications) for a variety of assigned municipal engineering projects involving roads, storm and sanitary sewers, watermains, stormwater detention systems and related topics; designs for ESC plans; prepare alternate designs as necessary; interpret topographic information required for design; site and lot grading; technical analysis of the municipal infrastructure components; preparation of quantity take-offs and cost estimates; and the compilation of as-built records for design and record drawings.
You are able to apply municipal engineering design criteria and drawing preparation standards for the communities in which you are assigned projects. You will also be expected to follow the design and construction standards established in the widely adopted MMCD Standards and Specifications. You are also able to apply relevant sections of the BC Building Code, as it relates to the design of municipal engineering infrastructure on private property.
You will also be required to prepare contract documents for project tendering and execution of the project design drawings. You are familiar with CCDC documents relating to Stipulated Price and Unit Price contracts, which are widely used in our business sector.
This is a fulltime position Salary is open depending on experience.
