PLANT MANAGER – CHEMICALS

Salary: $165,000 -$180,000

Location: Prince George

Industry: Chemicals

 

A chemical plant is searching for a strong Plant Manager to lead and direct the operations with an eye to operational excellence and strong leadership. This is an exciting opportunity to work with an industry leader in their marketplace, to grow and transform the organization. Experience working in a chemical plant imperative.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The plant manager is the most senior position in this organisation and will need to act a change agent by motivating employees, increasing plant probability and assisting in company growth. Duties include but are not limited to:   

  • Lead and direct site operations of the plant – ensuring the production and shipment of the products produced safety, environmentally sound and in a cost effective manor

  • Develop business strategies for the site and support the overall business strategy for the organisation

  • Allocate all local resources and establish internal priorities to optimize plant profitability and meet market requirements.


Safety/Environmental Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a company culture in which safety and health is the top priority

  • Lead waste minimization, continually focussing on recycling and reduction

  •  Comply and support all internal and external regularity and safety standards


Leadership Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership giving a clear mission and direction in line with the business strategies – put objective in place

  • Drive cultural change and continuous improvement


Operation Responsibilities

  • Manage the production of high quality products ensuring delivery demands are met

  • Drive and ensure core manufacturing basics are in place


Asset Management   

  • Responsible for all costs and expenses in the plant

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 8-10 years’ experience in relevant manufacturing management

  • BSC in Chemical Engineering

  • Experience working in a unionized environment

  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to work across a diverse workplace

 

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION

  • Base salary $165,000-$180,000

  • Bonus 15%-20%

  • Extensive benefits package covering everything

  • Pension, RRSP

  • 3 weeks of vacation
