Are you a skilled Carpenter who values safety and sustainability as top priorities? If so, we have an exciting opportunity that might just be your calling. We're seeking a Certified Carpenter for our WynnWood, BC, sawmill, where you can utilize your technical expertise, communication skills, and troubleshooting abilities to keep our modern sawmill operating at peak performance. Join our team and work alongside industry leaders in the forest products sector.

This role is a full-time, weekday schedule (5/8 or 4/10) with a minimum of 40 hours per week. There is also the potential for weekend work.

A day in the life of a Certified Carpenter will include:
  • General Carpentry type jobs as planned by the Maintenance Planner
  • Get quotes from suppliers for various projects
  • Create purchase requisitions for approvals
  • Flexible and able to handle rapidly changing priorities
  • Complete digital Work Orders with good time management

For this role, you'll come equipped with:
  • Good safety record and knowledge of safety procedures
  • Red Seal certification (preferred or 5+ years' experience in the carpentry field)
  • An excellent attendance record
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to work safely at heights
  • Strong decision-making skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to respond to changing jobs and assignments in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated, as often working solo

Preference will be given to candidates also possess:
  • Machine operator experience; backhoe, skid-steer, loader, manlift, telehandler
  • Finish carpentry / cabinetry experience
  • Basic metal working experience, welding, cutting, fabricating
  • Computer experience with MS Office

The hourly rate for this position is: $47.16
