RATE: $18.05 per hour PLUS 9.8% in lieu of benefits
While truck driving experience is required, driving is a small percentage of the working day. DDA drivers can expect to handle a minimum of 4,000 lbs (200 x 20 lb bags) of product per day. Our Head Office is located in Richmond, where the successful candidate will pick up the truck. The route can be anywhere in the Lower Mainland. There are tight deadlines to complete the route so the successful candidate must be able to endure the physical workload at a pace to complete the route within the scheduled work day. There is only one driver per truck. The person in this position is also expected to drive throughout the Lower Mainland, placing donation bins at various locations. Tasks between driving and placing donation bins will be assigned on an as needed basis.
This is a 7-day operation. Casual drivers must have open 7-day availability.
Union membership (BCGEU) is required. Successful casual drivers may apply for available full-time positions which include great benefits. Please note that once hired as a casual, candidates can apply for any internal postings.
