.NET developer with a focus on testing and QA, tasked with extending/customizing the functionality of Absolute products to drive customer success and satisfaction.  Work directly with customers and service delivery teams to gather requirements, propose solutions, create prototypes, design, develop, test and deploy custom solutions.

Accountabilities Will Include:

Delivering technical services for chargeable customer projects:

  • Developing and testing custom applications to fulfill ad-hoc requirements on customer projects
  • Carrying out functional, performance and integration testing of custom development work
  • Developing integration applications to import and export data between Absolute’s hosted production databases and remote customer systems
  • Developing custom reports
  • Documenting technical work according to defined standards
  • Coordinating with operations teams to ensure release readiness
  • Promptly respond to and resolve customer project issues should they arise
  • Following team operational procedures, including time-reporting, document management administration, etc.
  • Participation in customer facing requirements gathering sessions
  • Assisting with operational and technical requirements for custom applications work for Absolute’s customers, estimating project effort
  • Create unit tests as part of software development as needed
  • Prepare test plan documentation
  • Maintain and support existing projects to ensure continued functionality
  • Contribution to Absolute’s corporate knowledge and best practices by:
  • Creating or enhancing documentation and processes
  • Helping to develop best practices and department documentation, whether procedural or technical
  • Working closely with Global Support, Development and Operations teams, ensuring technical issues are logged correctly

Assisting Services management with internal activities or programs, such as:

  • Methodology development
  • Template development
  • Estimating of effort for technical work


What You’ll Need:

  • 1-3 years of software development and QA experience
  • C# and .NET Framework (intermediate level)
  • Strong SQL and Entity Framework experience
  • Strong knowledge of general database design and management
  • General technical troubleshooting, testing and issue documentation skills
  • Experience engaging stakeholders to gather and document technical requirements
  • Good understanding of source control systems (TFS, Git)
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Computer Science degree, technical diploma or equivalent experience
  • Travel is not expected for this role


  • Background in software QA and automated testing is strongly desired
  • Experience managing Linux environments is strongly desired
  • Experience developing software with PostgreSQL is strongly desired
  • Familiarity with RESTful or SOAP web services is a plus
  • Knowledge of .NET Core, JavaScript, Python, HTML, XML, JSON is a plus
  • Experience with developing applications for Linux, OSX and Android is a plus
