The Ralmax Group of Companies is currently looking for a Business Systems Analyst to join our team. The Business Systems Analyst is a key role that will work closely with management, business units, IT service providers and third party vendors to enhance the group’s effectiveness through the use of technology. This will require an ability to manage, analyze and synthesize complex system requirements and work with a diverse group of business users and IT professionals to identify business needs, source and analyze potential solutions, make recommendations on IT investments to management, procurement and implement best of breed solutions.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively in technical and non-technical environments. In addition, the Business Systems Analyst will take a hands-on role in working with business units to optimize the benefits of IT investments including user training, report development, post implementation support and documentation. Excellent collaborative and organizational skills are imperative.


  • Work with the IT Steering Committee and IT consultants to establish the corporate IT strategy
  • Work with management and IT service providers to execute the IT strategic plan
  • Work with business unit managers, staff and IT service providers to complete current state analysis, identification of business requirements, investigation of IT solution options, and document recommendations to the business unit managers and IT Steering Committee
  • Work with the business units to implement business process redesign
  • Interface with vendors by providing detailed business and functional requirements, and communicating business knowledge
  • Lead in testing of system changes and coordinate User Acceptance Testing by creating and executing Test Plans
  • Liaise with business groups and other IT service providers in capturing requirement change requests, identifying business / technical impacts and managing client expectations
  • Create and maintain system documentation, including operations manuals and team knowledge bases
  • Provide advice and research on issues related to information technology, information systems, and the deployment of new initiatives
  • Work with IT service providers to establish security policies and procedures to protect the data assets of the group and comply with all applicable legislation
  • Develop and review policies related to computer and network security, the use of and access to data and electronic communications, and the use of new and emerging technologies
  • Develop and execute a computer hardware and software life cycle strategy in a manner that optimizes organizational effectiveness while minimizing cost and obsolescence
  • Represent the information technology team within wider company projects


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.


  • Minimum five years experience in a similar IT role
  • Prefer understanding of planning, installation, configuration and support of Microsoft Windows Servers, Microsoft SQL Servers, and Linux/Unix servers, Samba, NAS, IPSec VPN tunnels
  • Familiarity with virtualization using VMware vSphere and ESXi.  Practical experience with multi-site, multi-host management, data protection and disaster recovery systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows and Apple ISX workstations/Macbook setup, maintenance software compatibility issues and networking with Windows and Linux.
  • Familiarity with planning, installation and support of multi-site CRM and accounting based information systems
  • Understanding of current corporate and internet security risks, threats and defense strategies
  • Familiarity with enterprise Wi-Fi setup and management, preferred

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge of business and technology trends and capabilities
  • Ability to organize and document system requirements
  • Solid understanding of practical uses of technology to solve business problems
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles including planning, scheduling and execution of short and long-term projects
  • Knowledge of networks, server administration and systems
  • Familiarity with various hardware equipment (ie; projectors, digital cameras, printers etc.)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills and ability to grasp abstract concepts
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with an attention to detail
  • Ability to set goals and manage multiple projects and initiatives
  • Ability to set, commit to and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing business needs
  • Ability to convey technical issues to non-technical people
  • Mature, professional and optimistic attitude
