What UBC is looking for:

We are looking to fill the role of Business Analyst II on the IRP Program Management Office team. This individual will lead the assessment of client needs in an effort to align business initiatives with information technology solutions. The Business Analyst II will work in a formal project team and provide expertise in the areas of:

  • requirements definition,
  • business process analysis and design,
  • functional design and specifications for integrations and reporting configuration,
  • data,
  • implementation, testing, training and documentation to deliver enterprise solutions to the UBC community.

This position will support PMO initiatives in developing standard and processes, overseeing project plans, schedules, resources, budgets, issues and risks logs, establishing metrics, supporting usage of approved project management toolsets, and providing regular program status reports to various program stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. In-depth knowledge of applications and the business requirements supporting them. Minimum of 5 years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

About the program:

UBC has embarked on a multi-year journey to transform its academic and administrative support processes and system environments for the entire UBC community. Following the successful completion of major renewal projects related to UBC’s Human Resources and Finance systems under the Integrated Renewal Program (IRP) in 2020, work is now underway for the next stage of IRP - to renew the Student information ecosystem, anchored by the implementation of Workday Student.  

The Integrated Renewal Program – Student (IRP Student) will leverage the industry-leading cloud enterprise solution, Workday, to replace UBC’s current core Student administration systems with a new integrated, user-friendly, mobile-enabled platform. This project has a high degree of complexity, influence, and impact as our solution is designed for the majority of constituents in the UBC community. UBC is one of the first Canadian institutions to implement Workday for this purpose.
