The City of Burnaby’s Information Technology Department has an exciting opportunity for a Power Platform app maker to join the Development Services team. An incumbent performs tasks related to sustaining existing business applications, deploying applications and developing or configuring applications such as Power apps, Power Automate Flows and integrate them with SharePoint sites and other applications. A Business Analyst 2 will also perform a number of activities supporting the identification of business requirements and the design of solutions such as assisting in conducting workshops, documenting, consolidating and reviewing needs, preparing alternatives and presentations to explain analyses and recommendations. The incumbent will establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts such as project managers, business analysts, business stakeholders, developers, software testers and management; exercise considerable independent judgement and assists in the preparation of business cases related to long term strategies and the acquisition of technologies; assists in the preparation of long-term technology strategies, assist in the acquisition of new tools and technologies, assist in the preparation of statements of work for 3rd party vendors, solicit quotations and evaluate alternatives. Performs related work as required.

Qualifications include completion of a university degree at the Bachelor’s level in computer science or a related discipline and sound related experience in systems analysis, or, an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of information technology components, process and developments such as Power Platform app maker tasks, develop Canvas apps, Model-driven apps, Dataverse, Power Automate, PowerShell and SharePoint. Experience with Power Platform ALM tools are desirable. Working knowledge of problem definition and analysis related to business processes and systems planning. A Business Analyst 2 will have the ability to analyze and evaluate various data and information, develop logical solutions for assigned problems; perform computer programming applicable to the work performed; ability to participate in the work of a project team and to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Salary: $7,946 - 8,285 - 8,647 - 9,014 - 9,394/month
