About the Community

The Alexis Creek First Nation (Tŝideldel) is located in Chilanko Forks, BC which is 177km west of Williams Lake on Highway 20. The Nengayni Deni "First Nations People" of Tŝideldel (Redstone) are part of the Tsilhqot'in Nation. 

In the time of our Ancestors, residents of Tŝideldel spoke the Tsilhqot'in language, were nomadic, and had seasonal camps wherever food was in abundance. The Tsilhqot'in had laws, structure, and stability by utilizing the power of working together. This contributed to the survival of our legacy and despite all trials and tribulations, the Tsilhqot'in of Tŝideldel are determined to carry on our culture today.

About the Opportunity

Currently, the Alexis Creek First Nation (Tŝideldel) is hiring a Band Manager to join our community in Chilanko Forks, BC.

Reporting directly to the Chief and Council, the Alexis Creek First Nation Band Manager will be responsible for the administering and overseeing of all band programs and will ensure programs are within budget. The Band Manager will ensure that all operations are conducted in a respectful and responsible way, ensuring that all decisions and actions meet the relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. 

The Band Manager will be responsible for the management of all staff and departments, for overall planning, conflict resolution, while acting as a liaison between the community, staff, and Chief and Council. The Band Manager will also act as a liaison between other government agencies and departments, private industry business, and any other individuals, groups, or agencies operating in the community.

In order to qualify for this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Operations Management, or another related field along with at least four years of previous experience as a Band Manager. A different combination of education and experience may also be considered.
