Job Summary
The Team
At Fiscal Branch, you'll join a small, established and impactful team dedicated to advancing reconciliation initiatives by shaping fiscal policy and managing vital funding for First Nations. The group works closely with colleagues across the provincial government in the Ministry of Finance, Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation and the natural resource ministries. The team is committed to fostering collaborative, inclusive solutions that directly support reconciliation and the broader natural resource sector's work with First Nations.
The Role
You will play a pivotal part in advancing reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples by supporting key strategic initiatives and managing funding envelopes that directly contribute to major reconciliation agreements and partnerships. You'll provide fiscal policy guidance that shapes the ministry's fiscal negotiation strategies, while also collaborating across the natural resource sector and core government. With its dynamic and varied responsibilities, this position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on reconciliation efforts and gain valuable experience in policy, program, and financial management.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Related degree (Finance or Economics, Resource Management, Social or Economic Development, Law, Business or Public Administration) or equivalent.
- An equivalent combination of education and management experience may be considered.
- Extensive experience leading, planning, coordinating and managing complex projects and work assignments, conflict resolution and solution building.
- Experience in strategic planning, policy development and performance measurement.
- Experience synthesizing and analyzing financial data to summarize, identify issues/trends and generate options/recommendations.
- Experience organizing and managing concurrent projects with multiple, competing priorities and rigid deadlines.
Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:
- Post-graduate degree (Finance or Economics, Resource Management, Social or Economic Development, Law, Business or Public Administration).
- Experience with federal-provincial cost-sharing agreements and fiscal arrangements with Canada.
