Job Summary

Bring your strong leadership skills to this dynamic team environment

Reporting to Provincial Priorities Branch in Service Delivery Division, the Director of Operations will be responsible for providing strategic oversight and support to initiatives that impact service delivery across the province.

Preference may be given to applicants with practice and operations expertise in Ministry program areas such as Children and Youth with Support Needs (CYSN) and Child Safety, as well as knowledge and competency with regard to Indigenous Jurisdiction.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Child and Youth Care, or Masters in Clinical Psychology, Educational Counselling Psychology, or Social Work, or equivalent.

NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must request a comprehensive report and the MCFD supplemental report to be considered for this competition.
  • Experience in a supervisory/management position.
  • Experience in program and service delivery planning and evaluation.

Preference may be given to applicants with:
  • Experience and operations expertise in Ministry program areas such as Children and Youth with Support Needs(CYSN) and Child Safety
  • Experience and competency with regard to Indigenous jurisdiction

  • Must possess and maintain a valid BC class 5 Driver's licence.

NOTE: if you currently have a valid BC (full) class 5 driver's licence in Canada and if you are the successful applicant you must acquire a valid class 5 BC driver's licence immediately.
  • May be required to work evenings/weekends.
  • Exposure to regular travel in remote locations.
  • May be required to use own vehicle on an expense account basis.
  • Must be willing to travel periodically for provincial meetings.
  • Successful completion of security screening requirements of the BC Public Service; which includes a Criminal Record Check and a Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) check.

About this Position:

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 4 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This position can be based in any of the following Ministry of Child and Family Development offices:Burnaby,Campbell River,Creston,Fort Nelson,Fort St. John,Hope,Kelowna,Nanaimo,Nelson,Port Moody,Prince George,Surrey,Vancouver,Vernon,Victoria,West Kelowna,Williams Lake
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
