The Health Workforce Planning, Nursing and Allied Health (WPNAH) Division is responsible for the implementation of B.C.'s Health Human Resource (HHR) Strategy and the operational delivery of provider services that contribute to effectively meeting patient and population health needs and improving patient outcomes through the efficient delivery of health services.The Nursing Policy Secretariat (NPS) has a provincial stewardship role in advancing the achievement of nursing policy that guides and strengthens service delivery across B.C. NPS is responsible for a diverse range of functions, including health policy planning, design, and implementation of several system-wide, priority strategies.

The successful applicant is responsible for successful program delivery while building and strengthening relationships with key partners, managing and delivering confidential information in secure environments; robust project and risk management, system-wide coordination, and communications.

Job Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in health administration, public administration, business administration, or a related field. OR a combination of equivalent education and related work experience may be considered.

Related work experience must include:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the development of human resources management or other public policies, plans, models, and frameworks, in the health sector in a management or planning capacity.
  • Project management, contract management, and budget management experience.
  • Experience in the supervision of multi-disciplinary operational staff and leading teams.
  • Experience developing and maintaining working relationships and resolving problems with partners.

  • Preference may be given to applicants who identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis or Inuit)
  • Preference may be given to applicants with a Master's degree.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home up to 3 days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
