The Office of the Superintendent of Real Estate (OSRE) sets conduct standards for the real estate industry, oversees the Real Estate Council's delivery of Council's consumer protection mandate, and manages the ongoing reform of real estate industry regulation in British Columbia.The OSRE also exercises statutory jurisdiction under the Real Estate Services Act, regulates the marketing of multi-unit real estate developments under the Real Estate Development Marketing Act , and approves strata plan schedules under the Strata Property Act .

The Senior Manager, Investigations is one of the OSRE's primary enforcement subject matter experts and plays a leading role in equipping the regulator to respond to real estate industry misconduct with timely and complete regulatory action that protects the public.

The Senior Manager, Investigations oversees the work of Investigators and develops and deploys investigative best practices to obtain evidence which proves or disproves a breach of real estate legislation and regulations by real estate developers, real estate licenseesor unlicensed and non-exempt real estate service providers.The Senior Manager is tasked with leading the Investigations Department's most sensitive enforcement endeavours and exercises considerable leadership, expertise, initiative and flexibility when responding to the changing circumstances of these complex matters.Management, executive, and legal counsel rely on the Senior Manager's acumen, judgement, and tenacity to make compelling cases for regulatory action which are subject to public scrutiny and have ministry-wide implications. Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Post-secondary degree in criminology, law, real estate, or business with additional training in administrative and criminal law and advanced investigative techniques;
  • 5 years (within the last 10 years) of investigative experience in a regulatory, corporate security, law enforcement, or related environment.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Must meet the criteria for eligibility for Special Provincial Constable status.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
    • Supervisory experience;
    • Investigative experience in the real estate sector;
    • Immediate eligibility for Special Provincial Constable status.
