The Senior Manager, Financial Operations is responsible for providing accounting services for the ministry; the establishment, maintenance, testing and ongoing continuous improvement of financial controls; ensuring all financial transactions comply with relevant government legislation, regulations, policy and GAAP; as well as, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information.

Job Requirements:
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation; OR
  • University Degree or higher in Business Administration; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Related experience MUST include:
  • Minimum 2 years of managementand minimum 2 years of supervision experience, preferably managing staff in a unionized and complex financial environment
  • Experiencereviewing and developing new/ revised internal financial controls
  • Experiencepreparing, analyzing and/ or evaluating financial statements
  • Experienceproviding guidance to Senior Managers, Executive, etc.
  • Experiencewriting business documents such as Briefing Notes, Estimates, Treasury Board Submissions, etc.

About this Position:
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This position is excluded from union membership.
