The Ministry of Forests is responsible for the stewardship of provincial Crown land and ensures the sustainable management of forest, wildlife, water and other land-based resources. The Ministry works with Indigenous and rural communities to strengthen and diversify their economies.

The Manager of First Nations Relations will lead the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of the province's duty to consult First Nations and to provide authoritative advice, interpretation and/or consultation services for one of the Ministry of Forests eight regions.

Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
  • A University Degree in business, public administration, natural resources, First Nations studies, political or social sciences, law or communications or a related discipline and a minimum of 3 years of *recent, related experience; OR
  • A minimum of 5 years of *recent, related experience.

*Recent, related experience must include:
  • Experience developing engagement strategies and conducting consultations with First Nations.
  • Experience providing advice and recommendations to decision-makers regarding First Nations consultation and the resolution of issues.
  • Experience supervising employees in a union environment.

Preference may be given to candidates with experience:
  • Negotiating agreements.
