Reporting to the Executive Director, Information Technology, the Director, Application Services ensures effective, integrated and reliable service delivery of business-critical information systems. These systems maintain readiness for and delivery of scheduled and on-demand electoral events. The position ensures a balance of business improvement (application development) and electoral event readiness and delivery to support Elections BC's (EBC) long-term business strategy. The Director establishes priorities for IT application support and enhancement, and leads the identification, initiation and full system lifecycle administration for all application development systems projects.

Job Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, you must be immediately eligible to accept permanent employment in Canada.

Education and experience:
  • Post-secondary degree in computer science, information management and technology or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with information management technology on a large scale and within a complex technology environment.
  • Related experience successfully developing project proposals and managing complex-multi stakeholder projects.
  • Experience leading the introduction of new approaches in systems development methodologies, and the implementation of systems applications.
  • Experience supervising staff.
