Job Summary Bring your vision, leadership, and strategic planning skills to this important roleThe Service Delivery Branch delivers services to the people and businesses in BC through our 65 in-person Service Centres, mobile outreach and virtual channels. The Area Director leads a designated geographic region or program area, and is accountable for the service delivery and employee experience across multiple Service BC Centres. This position provides leadership and direction in the management, implementation and delivery of programs, new services, systems and service channels, and is responsible for the required resources of their area in accordance with established priorities and budgets. The Area Director leads and develops others, fosters engagement, and promotes a culture that supports making Service BC a great place to work. The Area Director provides advice and participates in strategic planning, projects and initiatives that support Branch and Divisional objectives.
Job Requirements: - Degree in business administration, public administration, leadership, human services or related field and 2 years related experience; OR
- Certificate or diploma in business administration, public administration, leadership, human services or related field and 3 years' related experience; OR
- Secondary School Graduation and 4 years' related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Related experience must include:
- Experience leading people in virtual and/or geographically disbursed teams.
- Experience managing human and financial resources.
- Experience leading change initiatives.
- Experience resolving complex issues relating to staff, clients, or service delivery.
Preference may be given to applicants who have:
- More years of experience in any of the above requirements.
- Managed performance and resolved disputes in a unionized environment.
- Conducted operational and/or financial compliance reviews to assess business risk and performance.
- Project management experience.
- Resolved complex business problems creatively with multiple interested parties.
Provisos /Willingness statement(s)
- Must possess and maintain a valid BC class 5 (full) Driver's licence. Learners "L" or Novice "N" does not meet the requirements.
- Must be willing to travel periodically for provincial meetings.
- Must be willing to regularly travel, including to remote locations.
- May be required to work flexible hours (work evening/weekends).
- May be required to use own vehicle, with appropriate insurance coverage, on an expense account basis.
