The Position
The Strategic Human Resource (SHR) Advisor works on a high-performing SHR team of advisors, planners, analysts and more to provide SHR services to executive and senior leadership client groups in the Ministry of Land, Water, Resource Stewardship (LWRS) and the Ministry of Forests (FOR). The SHR Advisor is responsible for assessing and analyzing ministry needs and designing, developing, and implementing strategies, initiatives and programs to build capacity and meet the SHR needs of the ministry leadership teams.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:


Education and Experience
• Undergraduate degree or higher in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Public or Business Administration, Education, or a related field and a minimum 1 year of related experience*, or
• Diploma or Technical Diploma in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Public or Business Administration, Education, or a related field and a minimum of 2 year of related experience*,or
• An equivalent combination of education and experience* may be considered

*Relatedexperience includes all of the following:
• Experience providing advice and guidance in the areas of strategic HR (may include engagement strategies; recruitment strategies; succession management; leadership development, change leadership; diversity and inclusion, organizational culture assessment and alignment).
• Experience designing and delivering presentations to adult audiences.
• Experience leading project teams.
• Experience designing, developing, implementing and evaluating programs or projects.
• Experience using MS Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).

Preference may be given to candidates with 1 or more of the following:
• Experience conducting workforce planning, and analyzing workforce and work environment issues and trends.
• Experience providing strategic HR related advice to executives and senior managers.
• Experience carrying out research and analysis to support programs and initiatives.
• Certification and experience administering, interpreting and debriefing assessments such as, but not limited to the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Lumina Spark/Suite, or 360 feedback instruments.
