Its mandate is to support and enhance a responsive, comprehensive, regionalized health care system that promotes and provides for the physical, mental and community health of all British Columbians.
The Finance and Corporate Services Division supports the Ministry Executive and programs by managing and ensuring a consistent approach to financial and corporate issues. The services are provided through sevenbranches: Financial Operations, Financial Analysis and Decision Support, Regional Grants and Decision Support, Audit and Investigations, Capital Services, Business Financial Transformationand Logistics Strategy. These branches provide financial advice and assist programs to meet their strategic goals and operational plans, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and central agency directives.
Reporting tothe Executive Director of Financial Operations/CFO this position is responsible for effective stewardship of ministry interests for medical insurance claims and interprovincial billing/ payments. The Manager ensures compliance with legislation and policy in relation to third party liability (TPL) and out of province (OOP) billing/ payment. The Manager provides authoritative advice, policy and legislation interpretation ensuring changes in policy and legislation are reflected in ministry processes.
Job Requirements:- Undergraduate degree in a related discipline (Public Administration or Business Administration) AND two (2) years of related experience;
- OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Related experience must include: - A minimum two (2) years' experience in supervising staff including assignment of work, development and evaluation of performance plans.
- Experience providing adjudication/mediation and reasoning clearly and accurately in written format.
- Experience in policy/ legislation or contract interpretation for the purpose of decision making.
Preference may be given to applicants who have 1 or more of the following:- Progressively responsible related work experience in administration of program(s).
- Experience working with partners external to government (e.g. ICBC, private law firms, insurance agents or provincial governments).
- Experience in supervising large teams (e.g. 8 or more employees).
- Experience with case management software e.g. Salesforce
- Experience working in the public sector.
- Experience working in health sector.
