Job Summary

Ministry of Emergency Management & Climate Readiness (EMCR) leads provincial emergency and disaster risk management, builds and fosters collaborative relationships and partnerships, advances meaningful and lasting reconciliation, and supports all peoples in British Columbia to reduce disaster risk.

The Manager, Executive Operationswill provide corporate oversight for executive functions and is a key link between the newly established Associate Deputy Minister's office, the Deputy Minster's office, and executive. The position will provide leadership and enterprise-wide support to operations and initiatives that will contribute to EMCR's mandate. The position will oversee functions critical to EMCR's day-to-day operations by monitoring and improving corporate processes and procedures, leading assignments, appropriately address urgent issues and priorities of the Associate DM's office, and ensure timely and accurate information flow between executive and the Deputy Minister's Office.

Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
  • Degree in public administration, business administration or related field AND 3 years related experience*; an equivalent combination of education and experience maybe considered.


*Related experience must include all of the following:
  • Experience in a senior administrative role working in an executive office.
  • Experience developing, managing and providing direction on briefing materials, reports and correspondence; and managing administrative processes.
  • Experience managing multiple projects/programs or leading a component of a project or program.
  • Experience developing and maintaining a good working relationship with senior-level colleagues, technical staff and stakeholders.
  • Experience dealing with highly confidential and sensitive issues.


Preference may be given to candidates with:
  • Experience directing the work of other employees or contractors.


Candidates must be able and willing to:
  • Work flexible hours and be available during emergency activations 24/7 as needed.
