Job Summary

An opportunity to provide branch direction and leadership in service transformation

The Ministry of Health sees patient-centered care as one of its key priorities, making patients active agents in their health and care, empowering them to make informed decisions and choices, and fostering collaboration and partnerships between individuals, families, and health care service providers.

Hospital and Provincial Health Services (HPHS) Division leads service transformation across the health sector. Bringing together key mandated initiatives and specialized services for priority populations to add enhanced value and focus for health sector areas requiring substantive change. HPHS is responsible for core service/policy development for specialized services namely wait times, surgical services, diagnostic imaging, specialized provincial services, acute care, quality care, and Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD).

The Manager will manage the development, implementation and evaluation of major projects, or business components of large multi-faceted projects with multiple key deliverables. Projects are taken from original concept through to final completion.

Job Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in business/public administration or health sciences, social sciences, nursing, medicine or related field plus 2 years related experience* OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in business/public administration or health sciences, social sciences, nursing, medicine or related field plus 4 years related experience* OR
  • Diploma in business/public administration or health sciences, social sciences, nursing, medicine or related field plus 6 years related experience* OR
  • No degree and a minimum of 8 years related experience*

*Progressive related experience must include:
  • Experience managing multiple policy and/or program projects or leading a component (e.g., sub-project) of a major project.
  • Experience managing relationships with senior executives (both internal and external) and leading meetings and consultations.
  • Experience in directing the work for other project managers, professional employees, and/or consultants.
  • Experience in identifying, tracking, resolving, and preventing issues of a major project.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
