The Ministry of Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation (JEDI) plays a key role in delivering on Government's commitment to build an inclusive, sustainable, and innovative economy that works for people.

The Economic and Regulatory Analysis Branch within the Small Business and Economic Development Division provides ministry and government-wide support for economic policy and research, impact analysis, and regulatory and service improvement.

The Manager leads and manages projects and activities supporting economic policies and initiatives. This work includes providing timely, rigorous, fact-based analysis and advice to support evidence-informed policy development and decision-making. This position leads regular monitoring and reporting on economic, business, and labour market trends, as well as assessment of emerging economic issues.

Job Requirements:
  • Degree in commerce, economics and related social sciences, business administration, public administration, related field or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Related experience must include:
  • Experience working in a high profile, dynamic, results-oriented environment on challenging projects and initiatives that are strategic in nature and wide in scope.
  • Experience managing relationships with senior level stakeholders, both inside and outside government.
  • Experience managing multiple projects or leading a component (e.g., sub-project) of a major project.
  • Experience preparing and making presentations and providing advice to Ministry Executive (Minister, Deputy Minister, Ministry Executive, senior government officials, etc.).


Preference may be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following:
  • Leading research and analysis on emerging economic issues / opportunities.
  • Developing innovative analytical approaches to assessing economic impacts of proposed government policies and regulations.
  • Using Statistics Canada economic data.

About this Position:
This is a temporary assignment until 05/02/2025, that may become permanent.
Remote work is allowed, this position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved Telework Agreement. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
