The Division:

The Corporate Services Division provides leadership, direction, governance and support services to the Ministry of Citizens' Services (over 2200 employees in 65 communities) with respect to financial management, strategic human resources, corporate projects, strategic and business planning, enterprise risk management and facilities management and security.

The Branch:

The Financial & Administrative Services Branch is the central financial team within the Corporate Services Division of the Ministry of Citizens' Services and is responsible for the overall financial management framework. Services include; budgeting and forecasting for expenditures; recoveries; corporate monitoring and reporting; core financial operations; financial policy advice; contract management administration and expertise; risk & assurance; and facilities coordination.

The Role:

As the Manager, Accounting and Budgets, you will managethe provision of accounting services for the Ministry of Citizens' Services. You will overseeestablishment, updating and implementation of accounting policies, and provideassurance that financial operations are in compliance with IFRS/PSAB and public service policies and procedures. Also, you will identifyand mitigatefinancial risks through the development, maintenance review and improvement of financial controls, andleadthe compilation of financial statements and reports.

Job Requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA).
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial accounting & reporting, preferably in a government environment.
  • Minimum 2 years experience providing financial accounting and reporting services, preferably in a government environment.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in supervising staff, scheduling staff, allocating work duties, managing employee performance and delivering training and direction.
  • Minimum 1 year experience and demonstrated success in the coordination, delivery and maintenance of high quality customer service.
