The Position
The Strategic Human Resource (SHR) Planner supports the design, planning and implementation of strategic HR initiatives in areas such as recruitment strategy, diversity and inclusion, employee engagement, leadership development, change leadership, succession management, resilience and learning and professional development. The SHR Planner provides this support by researching, curating, and building valuable resources for these initiatives and through direct implementation of innovative projects that meet the strategic human resource needs of our executive and senior leader clients.

The primary focuses for the SHR Planner positions are supporting workforce planning and the implementation of actions from our ministry recruitment strategy, including the development of a recruitment administration pilot project. This pilot project will involve hiring new recruitment administrators and designing and leading a robust training program for these staff members. The SHR Planner position was established to create a long-term talent pipeline into the SHR Advisor role. As such, the position will be exposed to a wide variety of opportunities throughout the team.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:


Education and Experience
• Undergraduate degree or higher in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Public or Business Administration, Education, or a related field and a minimum of 6 months of related experience*, or
• Diploma or Technical Diploma in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Public or Business Administration, Education, or a related field and a minimum of 1 year of related experience*; or
• An equivalent combination of education and related experience* may be considered

*Recent, related experience must include:
• Experience leading and supporting general human resources-related work, including at least one of the following:
o Recruitment
o Workforce planning
o Labour relations
o Diversity and inclusion
o Change leadership
o Succession management
o Leadership development
o Resilience
• Experience designing, developing, implementing and evaluating programs or projects

Preference may be given for one or more of the following:
• A diploma or undergraduate degree and 2 years of related experience*
• Experience working with senior managers and/or executives on Strategic HR related matters.
• Experience preparing and delivering PowerPoint presentations to groups including senior managers and/or executives.
• Experience facilitating workshops and training sessions (in person and virtual).
