Job Description:

The Enablement Platform's Digitization Product Group supports the Bank's paperless and end-to-end digital document vision. While offering a suite of robust, industry-leading products is core to the Digitization vision, the product group also delivers capabilities via business-led initiatives across the entire enterprise.

The Digitization Product Group Owner will lead a team of Product Owners, Business Systems Analysts, and Intake and Advocacy Managers, and is responsible for ensuring that the Product Group and its Pods are creating value for the organization through initiative delivery that is aligned with business vision and strategy and consistently drives measurable outcomes. This entails aligning with other business & technical partners, and senior management to follow a product vision, creating and maintaining a prioritized product backlog, managing delivery blockers, continuously assessing stakeholder feedback, and driving innovation for the Product Group.

The Product Group Owner should always consider how to maximize value, assess how the products and the delivery process can be continuously improved, contribute to a positive work environment, and ensure that work embodies the Agile principles of transparency, collaboration and engagement. The Product Group Owner will have a high level of interaction with both Technical and non-Technical Business Partners and Asset Owners, requiring a high level of skill in collaborative strategic vision and roadmap building, relationship management, change management, and communications, across all levels of executive leadership, up to and including at the SVP level.

Job Description

CUSTOMER
  • Partner with other Product Owners, Product Group Owners, Executive Product Owners, non-TDSA business & technology partners, and senior leaders to support the delivery of each segment's product visions through adoption of Digitization capabilities
  • In alignment with the product vision and strategy and enterprise business priorities, create and maintain a backlog and continuously re-prioritize epics and features that will balance the needs of the various lines of business to provide the most value to the bank
  • Develop broad relationships across different business segments, platforms, journeys, and technical teams. Continuously engage with key stakeholders on the Digitization delivery roadmap, ensuing alignment with their priorities/roadmaps
  • Review performance analytics; recommend and champion strategies to enhance delivery of value
  • Actively participate in key TD Scaled Agile ceremonies (PI Planning, QBR, SOS, Showcases, etc.), and other key non-Agile delivery ceremonies (Program Meetings, DRB, ERB, ESC, etc.)
  • Proactively raise issues that impede the efficient delivery of business-driven initiatives, actively working to resolve for best possible outcome

SHAREHOLDER
  • Ensure adherence to all delivery frameworks and methodologies, and applicable compliance requirements
  • Ensure Product Group follows applicable internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals and physical control of assets), while ensuring risks are identified and monitored, and key controls and processes are effectively managed
  • Lead relationships with business lines / corporate and/or control functions to ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional / enterprise initiatives as an organizational or subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for complex situations
  • Define the OKRs in partnership with Product Group Technical Lead and other stakeholders as required
  • Protect the interests of the organization - identify and manage risks, and escalate nonstandard, high-risk transactions / activities as necessary
  • Keep abreast of emerging industry trends, business needs/visions, and evolving regulatory requirements, assessing potential impacts to Digitization vision, strategy and backlog
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

  • Manage employees in compliance with all human resources policies, procedures and guidelines of conduct

BREADTH & DEPTH
  • Oversee and lead a team of Pod Product Owners, Business Systems Analysts, and Intake & Advocacy Managers for an area of significant risk, complexity or scope while growing talent, developing skills and capabilities to achieve career goals, support project / initiative success and achieve business results
  • Provides coaching, mentorship and guidance to practitioners, business, executives within area of expertise
  • Manages and oversees the overall discipline and strategy for the respective areas while aligning to the enterprise's best practices
  • Integrates knowledge of the enterprise's overarching strategy in leading program design, policy formulation or operating standards within one or more areas of expertise
  • Provides coaching, mentorship and guidance to practitioners, business, executives within area of expertise
  • Partner to leadership team on the management of the portfolio and financials, with deep industry, external / internal, enterprise knowledge, recognizing and anticipating emerging trends and identifying operational efficiencies and opportunities with other business management / enterprise areas
  • Facilitate key strategic discussions at senior levels of the organization and provide thought leadership to executive audience (output may include strategic roadmap and/or deliverables/ frameworks/ short to long term goals etc.)
  • Set operational team direction and collaborate with others to execute on common goals
  • Focus on longer-range planning for functional area
  • Reports to an Executive Product Family Owner

EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION
  • Undergraduate degree and / or product certificate required
  • Graduate degree preferred
  • 15+ years of relevant experience (Hands-on Software Engineering and Technical delivery, Business delivery, Shared Services Delivery, including leading Delivery teams)
  • Delivery tooling experience across and within the various SDLC practice areas
  • 7+ years of Product Owner or Agile related delivery experience
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification and project management experience considered an asset
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certifications or experience operating in scaled agile delivery considered an asset
  • Delivery experience within multiple TD business segments and technology areas considered an asset
  • Functional and/or technical knowledge of document digitization systems, tools, and capabilities are considered an asset
