Job Description

Job Title:                 Associate



This Associate position assists 2 senior, top producing office leasing Principals in the preparation of financial analysis, proposals (tenant representation & listing), management of transaction documentation, invoicing, sublease and leasing marketing materials, and assist in the development and maintenance of client relationships.




  • Works directly to maximize an established business platform and assist in the management of client relationships, ensuring clients’ needs and expectations are exceeded.
  • Professional client interaction and correspondence, ensuring high level support of listing and tenant representation assignments.
  • Work with in house Avison Young resources to prepare presentations materials and coordination of market surveys.
  • Preparation of offer to lease documentation, contracts, letters, financial analysis, etc.
  • Management of deal processing, invoicing, etc.
  • Client database development and maintenance.
  • Maintain knowledge of the market activity,
  • Maintain relationships with landlords, other agents, etc.
  • Independent research of prospective clients and product opportunities.
  • Development and maintenance of marketing initiatives
  • Punctual attendance to work and weekly meetings.
  • Availability to work after normal business hours on specific tasks.
  • Courteous interaction and clear communication with all members of Avison Young.
  • Professional representation of the team and company at networking and social events.




To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential task at an above average level. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Candidates with previous experience in commercial real estate are preferred.   


  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and format presentations. Attention to detail is a must.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge and efficient use of business suite computer programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Working knowledge of InDesign is a benefit but not required.
  • Ability to multi-task, utilize effective time management skills, and be able to recognize and respond to time sensitive issues and tasks.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, managing multiple deadlines with limited direction/supervision.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret and create general business documentation.
  • Possess characteristic traits of independent thinking, self-starting initiative while working well in a team oriented environment.
  • Maintain a valid BC real estate license.
  • Maintain a valid Canadian citizenship or landed immigrant status.
